Explore the picturesque seaside town of Nafpaktos with its castle overlooking the fortress of the old port. Visit the historic town of Mesolongi and the sites of the ancient Aetolian cities. Take a boat ride to marvel at the rich ecosystem of the Mesolongi lagoon where flamingos and silver pelicans nest throughout the year and visit traditional fishermen’s houses made of wood. Pass by the town’s a Botanical Garden with approximately 3500 species of plants, including aromatic, medicinal, and cooking herbs, featuring both common and rare Greek species.
