Lemon Tree Houses

Lemon Tree Houses is a boutique complex comprising five villas, each accommodating between two and five guests. Located in the picturesque Ano Meria area of Folegandros, the villas are designed in a minimal Cycladic architectural style, offering a blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. Each villa features private verandas with unobstructed views of the Aegean Archipelago, providing guests with a serene and private retreat. The property boasts a seasonal outdoor pool, a sun terrace, and a lush garden, creating an inviting atmosphere for relaxation. Guests can enjoy a continental breakfast and light fare at the on-site restaurant, which offers imaginative Mediterranean dishes prepared with carefully selected ingredients. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, ensuring guests stay connected during their stay.

Lemon Tree Houses is committed to environmental responsibility and sustainable tourism. The property employs natural salt chlorination for its pool and utilizes LED lighting and low-consumption bulbs to minimize energy usage and electronic waste. In line with global standards, guests are encouraged to participate in the hotel's environmental initiatives by opting for less frequent towel and bed sheet changes, thereby reducing water and energy consumption.

The Ano Meria area of Folegandros offers a wealth of ecotourism opportunities for nature enthusiasts. Guests can explore nearby hiking and biking trails, taking in the island's unspoiled landscapes and traditional dry-stone walls. The region is known for its pristine beaches, such as Agkali and Livadaki, where visitors can enjoy swimming and sunbathing in a tranquil setting. The local culture is deeply rooted in traditional farming practices, and visitors can experience this heritage firsthand by engaging with the community and exploring the agricultural surroundings

Cyclades

The Cyclades islands are a stunning destination for anyone who loves nature, culture and history. These islands offer a unique opportunity to experience ecotourism and sustainable tourism, which are ways of traveling that respect the environment and the local communities. Ecotourism and sustainable tourism aim to minimize the negative impacts of tourism, while maximizing the positive ones. They also promote conservation, education and empowerment of the people who live in the destination. Some of the benefits of ecotourism and sustainable tourism in the Cyclades islands are:

  • They preserve the natural beauty and biodiversity of the islands, which are home to rare plants and animals, such as the Mediterranean monk seal, the Cyclades wall lizard and the Aegean cat.
  • They protect the cultural heritage and identity of the islands, which have a rich history dating back to ancient times. The islands have many archaeological sites, museums, churches and traditional villages that showcase their diverse and fascinating past.
  • They support the local economy and social development of the islands, which face many challenges such as depopulation, unemployment and poverty. The islands rely on tourism as their main source of income, but they also need to diversify their economic activities and create more opportunities for their residents. Ecotourism and sustainable tourism can help by creating jobs, improving infrastructure, enhancing education and health services, and empowering local communities to manage their own resources.

The Cyclades islands are a perfect example of how ecotourism and sustainable tourism can create a win-win situation for both travelers and hosts. By choosing to visit these islands with an eco-friendly and responsible mindset, you can enjoy their beauty and charm, while also contributing to their preservation and development. You can also learn more about their culture and history, while also respecting their values and traditions. You can also make a positive difference in their lives, while also enriching your own.
