Situated in Upper Syros or Ano Syros in Greek, this monastery has been around for almost 300 years and hosts an important library of books. This is a Jesuit monastery which escaped the brunt of the Ottomans in past centuries due to a deal between the French and the Ottomans at that time. This helped the monastery and Syros itself flourish in ways other parts of Greece could not.
