This amazing little winery that lies in the green valleys of Arcadia produces some fantastic organic wines that will surprise your pallet. The Spiropoulos family will welcome you with open arms and invite you to taste these tasty wines.
For over a century, the Spiropoulos family has been working in the vineyards of this area to produce delicious wines. This today has led them to transform their historic winery, established around 1890, into a modern winemaking operation that’s completely organic. Today, a robust variety of white and sparkling wines are produced here from the privately owned and organically cultivated Moschofilero grape vineyards. The whole wine-growing area of Mantinia is a ‘Protected Designation of Origin’ region, guaranteeing wines that are unique to this area.
Notable wines from the winery include the fruity, flowery Astala white wine, the elegant Domaine Spiropoulos produced from exclusively selected grapes, and the Porfyros red wine based on Cabernet and Merlot. The winery’s Syrah range is also highly appreciated, extending a complex bouquet of flavors such as violet, blackberry, black pepper, wood, smoke and vanilla.
Quality assurance, organic production and environmental protection form an important elements the winery’s philosophy, creating some great wines that should definitely be tasted if you’re in the area. If you’re into adventure, organize a cycling trip to the winery from the picturesque village of Levidi. Ask a local cycling club to help you, and you’ll be on your way to a great wine tour.
