Let this little museum dating from the Italian occupation of the island before WWII take you back thousands of years in time. Situated in a classical building, this museum boasts objects from prehistoric times up to the Neolithic era.
In one section you find objects from both Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations. The second section has finds from three ancient cities of the island, namely Karpathos, Vrikoi (or Vrikous) and Arkesia. Moving forward through the ages, the third section reveals artefacts from the Paleo-Christian era, attesting to the island’s long and varied history. The building itself is of course also an interesting building with an Italianesque-meets-art-deco flair.
