Olive oil tasting: in Karavas’ former primary school. Harry Tzortzopoulos will tell you everything about olive oil. Harry is an authority on organic olive oil. He produces his own oil, pressed from the olives of his eight hundred olive trees. You will find out how to recognize the olive oil quality, what to look for when buying it and how to preserve it. All these aspects contribute to enjoying olive oil at its finest. Truly Greece’s liquid gold. Harry will let you taste several types of olive oil and, of course, you will be visiting one of his olive groves. The excursion ends at the bakery in Karavas, a former olive press. Baker Pavlos will tell you about the ‘paksimadia’ – the Kythirian rusks made with olive oil – known all over Greece.
