The Voltoi of St. Donato (Eglouvi village, near St. Donato Church)

These stone, dome-shaped buildings that date back to the Venetians were used in the past as farm-houses and storage sheds. They were used by locals who sought shelter during the War of Independence in 1821. In WWII, local rebels held secret meetings in these eerie buildings.
