One of the most important pieces of religious art of all time is found in this church which lies across from the Town Hall near the main square. El Greco painted a stunning icon in 1562 at the age of 20 featuring the Dormition of the Mother of God, as the church is named in Greek. Also note the bell tower of the church which has left many a visitor in awe.
