Kastelli Bonofatsi

This is one of Crete’s Genoese built castle (there are 15 of them, in all), though the name, often associated with the Genoese castle Benifacio in Corsica. May have got its name later, from the Venetians in recognition of Boniface de Monferatt, who sold them the island in 1204.
