The Pontian Union, founded in 1928, created this museum in 1990 to exhibit approximately 600 items of cultural, social, folklore and historical resonance. Among the items on display presenting the Pontian way of life are traditional costumes, household objects, rooms decorated with Pontian furnishings and decor items, photographs, weavings, and handicrafts. The impressive collection is permanently housed on the second floor of the Pieria Pontian Union building in the center of Katerini, behind the municipal park.
