Karystos’ Archaeological Museum as well as the Giokalio Institute are housed within the same building along the coastal road of Karystos.
The museum includes artefacts from the pre-Helladic settlement just outside of the village of Agios Georgios, as well as finds from the Drakospita of Styra and Mt. Oxi. A large library as well as exhibits highlighting the region’s recent past are on display in the other wing of the building, known as the Giokalio Institute.
